Joshua (JTan) Tannehill

Joshua "JTan" Tannehill is a distinguished cybersecurity professional and public speaker with 28 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity. A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) since 2010, JTan is passionate about helping individuals and organizations safeguard their digital assets from cyber threats. He has demonstrated expertise in technical sales, cybersecurity consulting, and leadership throughout his career. As a Technical Sales Consultant with Global Data Systems, he combines his technical expertise with a consultative approach to support organizations in navigating complex cybersecurity challenges.

Previously, JTan served as Senior Manager of Information Security at Lumen Technologies, where he led a Trust and Safety team responsible for supporting law enforcement and combating cybercrime. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard, he dedicated 21 years to protecting critical systems from cyberattacks and served as the Chief Cybersecurity Compliance Officer for the Louisiana Air National Guard. His military service includes deployments in support of Operation Noble Eagle following the 9/11 attacks and serving in Baghdad during the Iraq War.

In addition to his professional endeavors, JTan is a dedicated community leader and volunteer. He serves as the President of the Louisiana Chapter of the Cloud Security Alliance, Vice President of InfraGard’s Acadiana Region, and Cyber Operations Officer for the Louisiana State Guard Cyber Reserves. Residing in Lake Charles, Louisiana, he is committed to raising cybersecurity awareness, particularly among senior citizens, to help them protect themselves from online fraud and scams. With a deep sense of purpose and an unwavering commitment to making Louisiana a safer place, JTan’s work continues to inspire and protect communities.
